PROFESSOR DINA BEN-YEHUDA: DEAN OF THE FACULTY OF MEDICINE AT HEBREW UNIVERSITY​

Professor Dina Ben-Yehuda is the first woman to head the Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s Faculty of Medicine. Throughout her medical career, she has been intensively involved in clinical work, specializing in malignant hematological diseases, in addition to research and teaching. Upon her return to Israel from the U.S., Professor Ben-Yehuda established her own laboratory to pursue molecular diagnostics of hematological diseases and launch basic research. In 2002, she was appointed Director of the Hematology Department at Hadassah Hospital and was later appointed Director of the Division of Hematology, which encompasses the Bone Marrow Transplantation Department, the Blood Bank, Neuro-Oncology Unit, and the Hematology Department.

A graduate of Ben-Gurion University Medical School, she interned at Hadassah Hospital and conducted basic research at Hebrew University’s Lautenberg Center for Cancer Research and Immunology. She completed her studies at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York. Her research findings have been published in international journals and she has been lauded as an outstanding instructor, winning several awards for teaching excellence.
