Jessica Haaz

Jessica serves as the Inspector General for Vendor Integrity at the New York City Department of Investigation. Before this, she was the Attorney-In-Charge of Special Investigations Division at the New York State Inspector General.

As a graduate of Duke University, Jessica continues to be involved with her alma mater by conducting alum interviews. She also participates in Cycle for Survival and enjoys tennis, golf, hiking, card games, and film festivals. She also turned a passion for baking challah, into a side hustle — a challah delivery business in NYC called Gold Street Bakery.

Jessica’s sense of tikkun olam is reflected in her personal and professional life. She shared, “Professionally, my daily decision-making is guided by my effort to seek justice by doing the right thing in the right way – which means making decisions that reflect a balance between ethics, integrity, and compassion. Doing good in my personal life is about positively impacting my smaller community (family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors) and my larger community (city, state, and religious community). Ideally, doing good in my personal life would reflect a balance between advocacy, fundraising, education, and community building.
