THE RUTH BADER GINSBURG ENDOWMENT FUND

In May 2020, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s Board of Governors unanimously selected Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg z”l to receive its highest honor, the degree of Doctor Philosophiae Honoris Causa, for her contributions to law and love of Israel.

In celebration of this honor, American Friends of the Hebrew University (AFHU) has established The Ruth Bader Ginsburg Endowment Fund in support of scholarships at HU’s Faculty of Law, where her legacy will inspire future generations of legal scholars.

The Ruth Bader Ginsburg Endowment Fund will provide promising students with scholarships to study at the Hebrew University’s Faculty of Law, supporting future generations of lawyers, judges, and legal scholars. Selected from a pool of the best and brightest of Israel’s multicultural, economically-diverse population and the international community, recipients will bolster the Israeli legal system and its commitment to a democratic and open society, justice and the rule of law, and a secure Israel.

We invite you to join us in honoring Justice Ginsburg, a champion of equality and a proud supporter of education and justice worldwide. A gift to AFHU’s Ruth Bader Ginsburg Endowment Fund commemorates Justice Ginsburg’s pioneering legal career, while making an important investment in the future of Israel.

Supporters will have the opportunity to attend the presentation of the Honorary Doctorate to Justice Ginsburg’s family on April 28, 2022, in Washington, DC.

Make your gift today in celebration of Justice Ginsburg’s life and legacy.

THE HEBREW UNIVERSITY FACULTY OF LAW

As Israel’s flagship of legal research and education, the Faculty of Law at the Hebrew University has nurtured —and continues to nurture—many of the country’s legal leaders, including the majority of past and current Supreme Court justices. Its faculty and students come from highly diverse backgrounds, with scholars earning worldwide recognition for their research, and students in its highly selective programs securing the most prestigious clerkships in the country.

In fulfillment of its social responsibility and commitment to social change, Faculty of Law researchers actively engage in legal policy development and other public activities in the national and international spheres, and the majority of law students assist at-risk or other disadvantaged populations through programs such as those of the Clinical Legal Educational Center.
